  2. Howdy Rob, yes there are many that can cope with the conditions..they are south African! They are a plant which often look best when they appear to have self sown (as they do) in odd spots about the place! Most of mine are rather nice cross self sown seedlings.     2. A few of my seedling have a curious úpward' pointing flower habit. According to a collector friend in N Ireland (he has a lot of plants) the original was from France in 1909 if I remember correctly! 190http://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/RHS-Publications/Journals/The-Plantsman/2010-issues/September/Kniphofia---pick-of-the-pokers I will chase up some photos and post... even after 2 killer heat days I have pokers flowering!
